The Final Frontier (Shining Sally)
I love poetry because it's a creative way to express yourself. Whithout poetry, we wouldn't have song lyrics. I write poetry all the time, and my themes range frm love to camping. I don't really stick to one topic when it comes to poetry. I also write all types of poetry. The majority of my poems are either free-form or have a rhyming pattern.

Tuggin' The Luggin' (A Sweater for all Types of Weather)
End Rhyme is when a poem has a word at the end of one line that rhymes with a word at the end of a different line. In the song, "Time" by Pink Floyd, the lines, " Ticking away the moments that make up the dull day/You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way," are examples of end rhyme because "day" and "way" rhyme. In the poem, "The Silken Tent" by Robert Frost, the lines, "She as in a field of silken tent/Has dried the dew and all its ropes relent" the words "tent" and "relent" rhyme at the end of each line. In the poem, "Devotion" by Robert Frost, the lines, "The heart can think of no devotion/Greater than being shore to ocean" have end rhyme n them. The words "devotion" and "ocean" rhyme.
My Poem:
My Poem:
Springtime
.
I see a robin
playing in the leaves,
I see a chipmonk
in the trees.
.
I see the sun
way up high,
I see the clouds
rolling by.
.
I see a flower
on the ground,
I see Springtime
all around.
Vacation Destination (Musical Mexico)
"It's Gonna Be Me"
by 'N SYNC
.
It's gonna--be--me
Oh, yeah
.
You might've been hurt, babe
That ain't no lie
You've seen them all come and go, oh...
I remember you told me
That it made you believe in
No man, no cry
Maybe that's why
.
Every little thing I do
Never seems enough for you
You don't wanna lose it again
But I'm not like them
Baby, when you finally,
Get to love somebody
Guess what,
It's gonna be me...
.
You've got no choice, babe
I've got to move on, and you know
There ain't no time to waste
You're just too blind (too blind), too see
But in the end, ya know it's gonna be me
You can't deny
So just tell me why
.
Every little thing I do
Never seems enough for you
You don't wanna lose it again
But I'm not like them
Baby, when you finally
Get to love somebody (somebody)
Guess what (guess what)
It's gonna be me
.
It's gonna be me
Oh yeahhhhh...
.
There comes a day
When I'll be the one, you'll see...
It's gonna-gonna-gonna-gonna-gonna
.
It's gonna be me
.
All that I do
Is not enough for you
Don't wanna lose it
But I'm not like that
When finally (finally)
You get to love
Guess what (guess what)
.
Every little thing I do
Never seems enough for you (for you babe)
You don't wanna lose it again (don't wanna lose it)
But I'm not like them
Baby, when you finally
Get to love somebody (love...)
Guess what (guess what)
It's gonna be me
.
Every little thing I do (ohh...)
Never seems enough for you
You don't wanna lose it again (don't wanna lose it)
But I'm not like them
Baby, when you finally (baby when you finally)
Get to love somebody
Guess what (guess what)
.
It's gonna be me.

Description:
'N SYNC uses poetry and the different poetic devices in the song. They show end rhyme in the lines, "Get to love somebody/It's gonna be me."'N SYNC also shows repetition in the song. The line, "It's gonna be me" is repeated many times during the song. They also use alliteration in their song. It's used in the line, "It's gonna-gonna-gonna-gonna-gonna." 'N SYNC uses metaphors in their song. The line, "You're just too blind, to see" is a form of this. "Every little thing I do/Never seems enough for you" is a form of hyperbole because she can't be satisfied with nothing. I think there should be more poetic divices, such as sensory detail or similies. It would make the song more interesting.
.
Song Analysis:
I think this song is talking about a man who is persueing a woman, but she's not interested in him. The man is determined to get this girl to love him. He knows she's been hurt, but he's claiming that he's not like those men; he'd never hurt her.
.
My Poem:
My Heart
.
Killing time
I look around,
Hoping that
my Love is found.
.
I wear my heart
right on my sleeve
for you to take,
for you to leave.
.
It's not for everyone,
only you.
My love is special,
this is true.
.
Break my heart,
I'll break your face,
I'll kick that nose
right out of place.
.
Don't get me wrong,
my love is true
but breaking hearts
is what you do.
.
I wear my heart
right on my sleeve,
for you to take
for you to leave.
